Kitchens from German Maker Poggenpohl

We are quite impressed with what Poggenpohl has cooked up with its new Artesio range for 2011. Designed with inputs from renowned German architect Hadi Teherani they have experimented with the now-not-so-uncommon concept of cooking+living. It expands on traditional kitchen design by blending kitchen duty with your overall lifestyle. In recent years the open kitchen/living room plan has captured consumer hearts for allowing the multi-tasking chef to interact with their families and guests while cooking. Added in are a lot of bells and whistles including hidden contraptions, and unique platforms for display and lighting which all together seamlessly open up to the rest of the home’s architecture.

Coffee, Tea, and Sugar Jar Galore!

Doesn’t it seem like home canning jars have been around to preserve things (anything!) since the beginning of time? Well they have really only been around since the mid 1800's, but with every passing century we are still finding ways to reinvent the jar with new styles, forms and designs. Below are some really beautiful jars we found that should compliment any possible style of home decor! However, what hasn’t changed is the stuff that goes into these jars so the labels continue to read the same, and it looks like sugar, coffee, tea, and flour will always take precedence for a royal production of caffeine and baked goods! So take a look at some sweet stylish ways people are packing jars in their kitchens…

Now this is an interesting design and goes with country rustic decor for sure!

Looks like the designer of this collection didn’t want to leave a single product behind, well except for the “I” which contains…ice? (If you’re not very organized this set is not for you…(Check the freezer!))

Contemporary Kitchen Design

Contemporary kitchens give us an enormous amount of leeway when it comes to the creativity we put into designing them. There are are certain rules of compliance in order for one to function properly but once that is established, the plethora of ideas and aesthetics available to materialize it are virtually endless. And when food is the central focus of family life, the openness needed to interact with those outside of the kitchen is becoming just as essential as the space needed to float around freely within it. The kitchens from Dadaweb which we feature today reflect this philosophy.

This open kitchen provides full exposure to the living room and potential guests.

Some of these kitchens explore the ‘live-in’ concept. That is one big space!

The natural light accentuates the tall ceiling giving the appearance of a super spacious kitchen.

This space cleverly conceals the form of a kitchen and appears to double as an office!

I think we will call this the kitchen with the LC4 Chaise Lounge!

Are we EVER going to get a kitchen with a view like that?

This kitchen would work nicely in a studio apartment and brings in modern elements with stainless steel and concealing sliding doors.

Modern Style Kitchen Designs

Modern kitchens are more keen on aesthetics these days than they are on practicality. But perhaps the clean line simplicity of this style calls for hidden contraptions regarding all things functional. Either way, our friends at deviant art hooked us up with a creative perspective of the contemporary modern kitchen. It is like we pick out a particular color and post pictures of spaces that give importance to this color. Today we specifically focus on purple kitchens, and we must say that the visual impact of this range of hues really works in the modern kitchen! Since purple signifies deep passion, royalty, spirit, and people who like purple are often individuals who are creative and generous. Needless to say, these kitchens are definitely mysteriously inviting, sexy, and the color all too trendy this season, but perfect for hosting fabulous interactive dinner parties.
