Even though at times considered an obstacle by the owner, little spaces can be a welcome challenge to the designer place to the task of creating a dream home out of it. Thirdstone Inc., a Canadian architectural design and style firm based in Edmonton, Alberta, managed to do just that by mastering their capabilities and functioning with a lot measuring a mere 25’ x 140’ to generate the gorgeous two-story SD Home. While exuding the look of high-priced finishes and information, this contemporary dream home’s style was actually constructed from a set budget. Crediting the strategic design, appeal and function had been not compromised by the usage of standard materials.
This gorgeous home’s minimalist facade captivates with deep charcoal-hued cast concrete, warm cedar-wood horizontal planks, as properly as glimmering metal and glass. A soaring two-story, windowed-wall entrance leads you into the initial level of the house, where the shared living room-dining area-kitchen is found, as well as an intimate study and necessary mudroom.

The East-West exposure inspired the designers to function with the organic energies afforded by that angle, designing strategically-placed windows on each levels of the home that open to breezes and maximize this efficiency.
Downstairs, the combined living area is modern with a cozy flair. The colour palette is soothing, with greens mimicking the outside beauty mixed with punches of bright blues and lime-yellows. Flooring is a fresh, polished pale grey and drastically offsets the clean lines of the kitchen island and cabinetry which are bathed in a rich, chocolate tone. The stainless appliances, fixtures and accessories add the perfect dose of brilliance to this interior space.
The open-riser and steel staircase is gorgeous against the wealthy grey walls, exuding the ultimate modernist beauty. Major to a master suite and dressing region, workout room, guest bedroom, den, as nicely as a roof terrace which affords spectacular views of the vast nature-scape, it’s astounding what has been designed into this small space. The numerous artwork displayed throughout this contemporary residence not only is eye-catching, but manages to seamlessly draw in colours from the outside creating a magnificent, modern property interior.
